The village of Lauadi on the Solomon Sea side of the peninsula that forms the north coast of Milne Bay is home to two really special dive sites.
Just off the beach in front of the village is Dinah’s Beach, named after the wife of PNG diving pioneer Bob Halstead.
Dinah’s is very much a muck dive, meaning there is no great scenery to see – but there are lots of critters.
On the headland of the bay that hosts Lauadi is one of the best reef dives in PNG – Deacon’s Reef.
Deacons is simply spectacular and one of my personal favorite dive sites in Milne Bay.
This article was published in the Australian dive magazine SportDiving and details what there is see at both Deacon’s Reef & Dinah’s Beach.
